The Beginning..

I have decided to start a blog for the edgy rock-chic South Africans out there who have to live with the consequence of being in a country that at times can be extremely safe and boring with its fashion. Many a night I have Googled and ogled at the clothes some of our overseas counterparts get to lay their hands on and the envy inside is a little beast I can’t control.

Now some of you might have the moola and balls to import your trinkets from abroad - and for that I envy you just a smidge more. I know for a lot of girls we are put off from importing because of exchange rates and all the horror stories of the parcel going missing, being opened at the post office or worst yet those import duty fees.

So finally, out of frustration, I have decided to make a blog about it. I aim to show you where you can find our elusive style LOCALLY, some great DIY tips to make up for where we are lacking and of course for all our global shopping junkies where to find those precious little gems online. I’ll also be doing reviews on the latest collections from local brands such as [The Lot]( www.ilovethelot.com), [Mr Price](www.mrp.co.za), [JayJays]( www.jayjays.co.za), [Factorie]( www.factorie.com.au) and [Cotton On]( shop.cottonon.com) as well as the international biggies like [Blackmilk Clothing] (www.blackmilkclothing.com), [Iron Fist]( www.ironfistclothing.co.za), [Hot Topic]( www.hottopic.com) and all those little boutique Etsy stores in between.

All you need to do now, is sit back and try to stop yourself from drooling. The fantasy of those elusive threads that only exist in your dreams is over - courtesy of Lace + Crosses.
